Cousins Steel International fabricates structural steel in our own workshop in Mount Edgecombe, Durban. Because the same building houses our structural engineers, Tekla detailing team and fabrication shop floor, nothing gets lost between design intent and the steel that arrives on site — every connection is calculated, detailed and cut by people who sit metres apart.
Our CNC-driven shop floor handles cutting, drilling, welding and finishing with quality control at every stage, from incoming material inspection to final dimensional checks before dispatch. Coded welders work to qualified procedures, and every fabricated assembly leaves the works traceable to its drawings and material certificates.
That vertical integration is why we can hold tight tolerances, compress programmes and stand behind our work with a 12-month workmanship warranty. Whether you need a fabrication-only run against your own drawings or a full turnkey structure we design, fabricate and erect ourselves, you get one accountable partner — not a chain of subcontractors.

Where is your fabrication facility?+
Our workshop is in Mount Edgecombe, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal — strategically positioned near the N2 corridor and the port, which lets us service sites across KZN, the rest of South Africa and export markets in Southern and East Africa.
Do you only fabricate, or do you design and erect as well?+
All three. Engineering design and detailing, in-house fabrication, and our own erection crews are under one roof, so you deal with a single accountable contractor from concept to handover. We also take on fabrication-only orders for clients who have their own design or erection teams.
What size projects can you handle?+
From standalone mezzanines, staircases and canopies through to large-span distribution centres of tens of thousands of square metres. Our CIDB registration and SAISC-recognised portfolio cover both private and public sector work.
Do you work outside KwaZulu-Natal?+
Yes. We erect across South Africa and export fabricated steel into SADC and broader African markets, including completed projects in Tanzania. Fabricated steel is packed, documented and shipped from Durban.
