1. Who we are

Cousins Steel International (Pty) Ltd (“CSI”, “we”, “us”) is a structural steel design, fabrication and erection company based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

When you submit our enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, country (and province, for South African enquiries), the product you are enquiring about, the size and timeline of your project, and the contents of your message.

If you arrive from an advertisement or a link, we also record where you came from, such as the platform, campaign and advertisement identifiers in the link, the page you landed on and the website that referred you. We attach this to your enquiry so that we can see which channels lead to enquiries.

We also collect website usage statistics, such as pages visited, approximate region and device type. If you accept cookies, we and our advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to measure visits and the performance of our advertising.

3. How we use your information

We use the details you provide to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotations, and communicate with you about your project.

With your consent, we also use cookies and similar technologies to measure which of our channels and advertisements lead to enquiries and quotations, and to show our advertising to people who have visited this website.

We may occasionally follow up on past enquiries. We do not send bulk marketing email, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

4. Sharing of information

Your information is accessible to the CSI team members handling your enquiry. We use monday.com to manage and track enquiries, and we may share information with other service providers who operate our website and email systems, solely for that purpose and under appropriate safeguards. If you accept marketing cookies, Meta receives information about your visit through the Meta Pixel, and handles it under its own privacy policy. Some of these providers process information outside South Africa, and where this happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected.

We will disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data retention and security

Enquiry records are kept only as long as needed to service your project and meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Cookies and tracking

We ask for your consent before using cookies that measure visits or support advertising. You can accept or decline in the cookie notice when you first visit. If you decline, we do not load the Meta Pixel. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work do not need consent.

Under POPIA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its processing.
