Project Update: Toyota Umlazi

We had the privilege of putting our creative juices together to design a Toyota Showroom for Morgan Creek Properties out in Umlazi.

The project took us eight weeks of hard graft which included a few delays concerning municipal documentation. The aim was for the showroom to be attached onto an existing structure.

This project was a general warehouse built for Henways Transport through Shree Property Holdings

The project was expected to take 12 weeks but took us a mere 8 weeks to complete, despite the massive strike that occurred in the metal and steel industry. We made use of precast concrete (tilt up) walls and a composite steel/concrete detail in the office suspended floor to speed up the process of the building.

This beautiful storage facility was built for Nadasens Property Trust to act as a bulk storage facility for fertiliser. Cousins Steel International does a lot of work for Nadasens and considers them one of our most valued customers!

The particular steel structure had to sit on top of a 4.5m high concrete wall that was designed to hold the bulk cargo on the inside wall. It spans no less than 35 for the most efficient use of space in the warehouse.

The project quoted and designed in October 2012 and was completed in two phases:

Block A and B: About 10000m2  completed by the end of last year

Block C: 6000m2 completed this year
